Questions
Short answers about Lunille.
How much does it cost?
Lunille is free for 14 days, then a one-time purchase of $19.99 (launch price $14.99 until 30 November). There's no subscription, and you buy it right inside Lunille. Sales tax or VAT is added at checkout where it applies. See pricing.
What happens when the trial ends?
The notch stays off and Lunille offers to finish the purchase. Choose Buy Lunille: the checkout opens right inside Lunille, and once you pay, Lunille activates itself. Your settings are kept, and there is no key to type.
How do I use my license on another Mac?
Install Lunille on that Mac, open your receipt e-mail there and choose Activate Lunille. A license covers up to 3 Macs. To move it, choose Deactivate This Mac in Lunille on the old one.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Within 14 days of buying, for any reason. Write to hello@lunille.com with your order number. The details are in the terms.
My Mac has no notch. Will it work?
Yes. On Macs without a notch, and on external displays, Lunille draws one at the top of the screen.
Which Macs and macOS versions does it support?
Any Mac with Apple silicon or an Intel processor running macOS 14 Sonoma or later. The download is a single universal app.
Is it safe to open?
Lunille is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, which means Apple checked it for malicious software. The first time you open it, macOS asks you to confirm, like any app downloaded from the web.
Which permissions does it need?
Only the ones for the features you use: Accessibility for the volume and brightness keys and for notifications, Calendars for your events, Location for the weather, Camera for the mirror, and Automation so Music or Spotify can share artwork.
Does anything leave my Mac?
Very little. For the weather, your location rounded to about 1 km is sent to Open-Meteo. For album artwork, when Spotify is playing and macOS has no cover, the image is downloaded from Spotify's server. Once a day Lunille asks lunille.com for updates, and when you enter a license key it goes to Lemon Squeezy to be activated. There is no account, no analytics and no tracking. The privacy policy has the details.
Which coding assistants does it work with?
Command-line coding assistants that keep session logs on your Mac are picked up with nothing to set up. Desktop assistant apps show up through their notifications.
How do I update it?
Lunille checks for a new version once a day and asks before it installs one. To check now, choose Check for Updates… from its menu bar icon. Your settings stay. Every Lunille 1.x update is included in your license. If you installed 0.9.1 or earlier, download the new version from this site once; updates come by themselves from then on.
How do I send feedback or report a bug?
Choose Send Feedback… from Lunille's menu bar icon, or write to hello@lunille.com. The app adds your Lunille version, macOS version and Mac model to the message so you don't have to look them up.
How do I uninstall it?
Quit Lunille from its menu bar icon, then drag it from Applications to the Trash.
